Ukulele impresario and singer/songwriter Craig Robertson began organizing Ukulele Noir events in 2004. He invites a variety of talented local musicians to present their work in a cabaret-style setting. Some of the players perform original music. Others draw repertoire from the Roaring Twenties, tin Pan Alley, Doo-Wop or the 1960s. In addition to providing a showcase for other performers, Robertson presents a mix of vintage and original tunes; his own songs explore stories of hypnotism, murder and dancing bears.

The mood on April 5th will range from light-hearted to heart-broken; together, the Ukulele Noir performers take as their goal and their motto: small instruments, big trouble!
