There's a loose filament that joins ukulele players. The Ukulele Caravan is bringing a number of them together, many for the first time on the same stage. Soloists and duos from as far apart as Nova Scotia and Jersey will cross from Lambertville, New Jersey, through New York City, into Boston and Shirley, Massachusetts, to end at the site of the first landing of the Pilgims, Provincetown. Never in the world has such a tour occurred for this humble instrument.
Each of these ukulele artists has an individual style, Bach to rap. There's a lightheartedness to the quality of their kinship and their love of the uke. Every performance has a different bill, with some musicians playing every stop along the way. It's a traveling ukulele wonderland.
